Oxygen is vital in:
- collagen synthesis (main protein of connective tissue)
- enhancement of fibroblasts (connective tissue cells)
- Angiogenises (formation of new blood vessels)
- leukocyte function (white blood cells)
TWO² increases angiogenesis related growth factors (BFGF, HB-EGF, KGF and VEG-F) in chronic wounds.
TWO² provides greater diffused oxygen due to higher pressure gradient, which raises capillary PO2 levels at the wound site, stimulating capillary budding and granulation of new healthy tissue.
TWO² increases leukocyte function which enhances antibacterial activity and suppresses bacterial growth.
Intermittent pressure which stimulates circulation and reduces edema.
The 100% Oxygen rich environment helps destroys any underlying infections or pathogens.
Indications for Use
- Diabetic Ulcers
- Venous Ulcers
- Pressure/Decubitus Ulcers
- Ischemic (Arterial) Ulcers
- Burns
- Post Surgical wounds
- Incisions
- Amputations
- Skin grafts and flaps
Contraindications:
Deep Vein Thrombosis (for TWO² Chamber only)
Treatment:
Non-invasive therapy, which is applied for 90 minutes once a day either using the TWO² Chamber or the Disposable TWO² Bags. TWO² has the ability to achieve increased oxygen levels in the open wound without risk of systemic oxygen toxicity.
TWO² CHAMBER - Humidified gaseous oxygen is cyclically pressurized between atmospheric and 50 mmHg pressure and applied directly to the Hypoxic wound site.
Disposable TWO² Bags - Humidified gaseous oxygen is constantly diffused at 22 mmHg pressure and applied directly to the hypoxic wound site.
