Prevention by Suspension™

The Pre-Vent Series® of therapeutic pressure redistribution surfaces is the culmination of extensive research and testing. The Sphere® and Hexon® designs react to body weight displacement across the entire surface. This prevents and relieves pressure sores by keeping the body in a constant state of suspension; Prevention by Suspension™. Our unique shapes, together with our Med-Flex® VPF™ foams react instinctively to a compression set, allowing for a fully automatic, totally zoned surface. The Sphere® and Hexon® designs act independently as its own self-adjusting, pressure-relieving zone. Every component undergoes a strict protocol to ensure clinical efficacy, infection control standards and durability for the life of the surface.

VPF™ (Variable Pressure Foaming) Manufacturing Process

VPF™ is the most modern manufacturing process used today. This process, known as Chamber Technology, uses an enclosed controlled environment rather than a traditional open-line pour. VPF™ allows for the precision control of atmosphere pressures during manufacturing. This process adds to the purity of the foam's cell structure while greatly reducing the sag factor (deflection). VPF™ enhances the product's life and extends the pressure redistribution qualities of our foam surface systems. VPF™ technology enables us to warranty the longevity of our Pre-Vent Series™ surfaces and outlasts all other conventional surfaces.

Med-Flex® VPF™ Foam Formulation

Med-Flex® VPF™ foam is an exclusive formulation made from much higher polymer fill content in respect to conventionally poured foams. In conjunction with Chamber Technology, Med-Flex® VPF™ foam produces a longer lasting softer cell structure, yielding greater support without compromising true foam comfort. Med-Flex® VPF™ foam allows us to produce variable densities and IFD's (Identification Force Deflection), which are stronger in strength (tensile) and provide overall durability factors never realized in a medical mattress application. The Med-Flex® VPF™ foam height retention loss is virtually eliminated, offering effective clinical outcomes over its entire life. All Med-Flex® VPF™ foams are anti-microbial and fire retardant.

The Sphere®

The patent-pending anatomically inspired sphere shape offers the most unique design the therapeutic support surface industry has ever seen. The Sphere® design is clinically effective in redistributing interface pressures, which create pressure ulcers. Compressing the Sphere® expands the surface area into a flat pressure redistributing surface to evenly distribute and support the patient's weight across the entire surface. Each Sphere® acts independently as its own self-adjusting pressure redistribution zone. As the body moves across the surface, the Sphere's® touch points help stimulate blood flow. The Sphere® design permits air circulation, reducing heat build-up, which provides a much cooler, more comfortable support surface.

Hexon® SMT™ (Surface Modification Technology)

Surface Modification Technology enables us to produce a single piece of polyurethane foam with varying features and properties. We can alter the surface pattern, size, space, position, level and depth of cut. This engineering advancement produces a pressure redistribution surface that gives unlimited comfort zones never thought possible in a single piece of foam. SMT™ allows the Hexon® design to be stronger and more supportive with a greater surface area than conventional foam convolution. This design absorbs and distributes the impact weight of the body to provide greater comfort, maximum support and to redistribute pressure around bony prominences.
