RetractaBed High/Low Electric Bed Frame
Features and Benefits
- Resident Safety - The RetractaBed offers fall prevention. In a non-retractable bed, the residents place themselves in a dangerous position of stretching out over the bed to answer their phone, reach for their glasses, or a drink. Therefore, normal resident movements are a constant threat to resident safety. The RetractaBed will significantly reduce these dangers to residents.
- Resident Convenience - When the one button Auto Contour position is actuated, the head section of the bed hugs the wall, therefore keeping the resident in proximity to the bedside cabinet and overhead lighting.
- Auto-Contour Feature - By activating a single control button, the head section and knee sections simultaneously create a comfortable 12° to 15° knee break. This prevents the resident from gravitating toward the foot of the bed when the head section is elevated. This prevents skin shear, which could lead to ulcers. This also eliminates staff risk of injury due to repositioning residents. It also relieves undue pressure behind the knees, which also ensures proper circulation to the lower extremities.
- Support Arm Side Rails - Ergonomic, innovative three-position guard specifically developed to provide ideal assistance for long-term care residents.
- The low position allows unobstructed access to residents or for stretcher transfer
- The normal guarded position provides protection without restraints and a pleasing and unprecedented arm chair environment when contoured
- The third position with the arm high and towards the head end provides the resident with an extremely easy and stable means of entering and exiting the bed
- Easy Resident Access Support Arm Controls - Bed positioning controls are conveniently located on both of the support arm side rails. The auto-contour or head and knee functions are located on the inside of both support arm side rails for easy access by the resident. The high/low Control function is located on the outside of both support arms for easier caregiver access.
- Point of Care - Fixed/embedded controls and three position support arm rails allow the staff and resident to be in position to maximize the safety of their environment. This exclusive feature also gives residents the capability to move freely in and out of the bed, therefore creating an assistance device not a restraint.
- Hospital Grade Casters - 1-step caster lock
- Operational Lockouts - Staff can lockout the Support Arm Controls at the foot of the bed
- Energy Efficient - Low voltage DC actuators, which are also quiet and highly reliable
- High Position - 24.5", assists residents who have difficulty standing up from a lower bed position, and also permits better resident access and transport, therefore reducing staff related stress and back injuries
- Low Position - 8.5", reduces risk of injury from a resident fall and provides restraint free safety
- Stand-Up Storage Feature - Permits a vertical footprint of approximately 4 square feet
- Stain Colours - There are four stain colours available to ensure the head and foot boards match your furniture - they are available in Light Oak, English Oak, Cherry and Mahogany
- Set-Up and Delivery - No tools required
- Warranties - 15 year warranty on the frame and 3 year warranty on the motor
