Power Pro Elite Pulsating & Alternating
True Low Air Loss Therapeutic Surface
This therapeutic surface combines three clinically effective therapies. The three modes are Alternating Air Pressure (alternating cells provide the therapeutic benefit of reactive hyperaemia and reduces interface pressure well below 32 mm Hg), Pulsate (provided low air loss therapy while allowing the baffles to pulsate on a five minute cycle) and Static (provide maximum low air loss with constant pressure relief and support). The mattress utilizes 18 independent deep air cells to reduce interface pressure for the prevention and treatment of Stages I-IV pressure ulcers. This surface is designed to fit all standard hospital and long term care bed frames. We provide a spare therapy cover at no extra charge. The multi-stretch, moisture vapour permeable, low shear, quilted cover transfers moisture away from patients skin. It is washable, anti-microbial, fluid resistant and fire-retardant. The ventilated deep cells have lasered air holes throughout the mattress to help reduce skin maceration under the patient. The air cells are constructed of thermal polyurethane material. This combination ensures strength, durability and patient comfort. There is an Autofirm mode, which should be used when repositioning, feeding, dressing, etc. your patient/resident. There is a CPR valve, which quickly deflates the mattress system for medical emergencies. The hose connections from the mattress system to the pump feature a transport locking device that ensures the mattress remains inflated for patient transport or during power outage. The pump is controlled by a micro-processor, which allows the care giver total control of comfort and chosen therapy. The cycle time for the Alternating Air mode ranges from 3 to 20 minutes. This surface has a weight capacity of 650 lbs. and we offer a two year warranty. TSS does have a TPD license to sell this product in Canada and the pump does meet the CSA and UL standards.
Properties of a Low Air Loss Surface:
- Prevention of friction and shear with the therapy pad (never use a sheet on top of the therapy pad and only use a disposable incontinence pad as required)
- Handles 1.5 litres of moisture (sweat & incontinence) in a 24 hour period
- Pressure is reduced to 32 mm Hg for optimal pressure redistribution
- Prevention and healing of stages I-IV pressure ulcers
- Offers prevention and comfort for palliative residents
Ensuring the Setting is Correct
Use the weight chart below as a guideline, but ensure you do a "hand-check" and make sure the setting isn't too high (which would cause pressure) or too low (resident is bottoming out).

| lbs. | 90-125 | 120-185 | 155-225 | 180-265 | 225-300 | 275-350 | 300-375 | 350-450 | 450-550 | 550-650 |

What to do after a power failure
- Press the "ALARM RESET" button (the button with the "BELL" on it) to disable the alarm.
- Press the "START" button and ensure the light switches from "STANDBY" to "OPERATE".
- Set the "COMFORT CONTROL SETTING" to the appropriate number, as stated on the laminated instruction sheet attached to the pump. If there is not a setting stated, do a hand check to determine the appropriate setting.
- The "MODE" will default to "STATIC". If your resident requires "ALTERNATING AIR", press the "MODE" button. Press the "CYCLE" button until you have the suitable time selected (a 15 minute cycle is standard).
